OUR SCHOLARSHIP MAKING PROCESS!

Thank you for your interest in a scholarship through the Hardin County Community Foundation for graduating seniors of Hardin County schools. The information below will help you determine your eligibility and guide you through the scholarship application process. Please review these materials carefully before applying.

ELIGIBILITY:

Scholarship applicants must meet the eligibility requirements established by the Hardin County Community Foundation. The criteria below will help determine whether you are eligible to apply for available scholarship opportunities. Below are the Scholarships, but not limited to:

1. ADA AREA DOCTOR SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is designed to support individuals pursuing their dreams in medically oriented careers. It provides financial assistance to help students advance their education in fields such as dentistry, dental hygiene, nursing (LPN, STNA, RN), clinical laboratory science, medicine, occupational or physical therapy, optometry, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, radiology, and nuclear medicine. Other medically related programs may also qualify. The scholarship is open to seniors at Ada High School, Upper Scioto
Valley High School, and Hardin Northern High School. In addition, current students already enrolled in a medically related program are also eligible to apply. We encourage all students committed to a healthcare path to explore this opportunity.

2. MARY M. & PATRICIA A. STERLING SCHOLARSHIP
Mary M. Sterling and Patricia A. Sterling, daughters of Guy and Ruth (Baum) Sterling, were lifelong residents of the family farm in McDonald Township, Hardin County, Ohio. As members of Lawrence Valley Grange, they enjoyed participating in the Hardin County Fair for many years. This scholarship fund is designed to support students in Hardin County who are involved with Junior Grange, 4-H, the National FFA Organization, or similar organizations. We encourage all eligible students who are passionate about these programs to apply and continue the Sterling sisters’ legacy of community involvement. You must affix a letter of your acceptance from your educational program to the application.

3. RUSHSYLVANIA ROUGH RIDERS SCHOLARSHIP
The Rushsylvania Rough Riders began in the 1950s as a family-friendly horse club, hosting shows in the Logan County area. Participation was open to 4-H youth and community members of all ages, creating a fun and inclusive environment for everyone. In 1962, the club purchased land outside of Rushsylvania and continued to host shows with many classes. Over time, as the horse industry became more specialized, the club’s focus on competition evolved. When the property was sold, the members established a scholarship fund to support local youth. Today, this fund is administered by the Hardin County Community Foundation, helping young people in the area pursue their education and dreams. We encourage all eligible students to apply and carry forward the spirit of the Rushsylvania Rough Riders. Limited to: One Senior from Ben Logan High School, and One Senior from Ridgemont High School.

4. SPATH SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is awarded annually to four seniors from the Upper Scioto High School District who have been accepted to a four-year university, two-year technical college, community college, or other institution of higher learning. While students in all fields of study are encouraged to apply, priority will be given to those pursuing mathematics, engineering, chemistry, physics, or other applied or natural sciences. We warmly encourage all eligible students with a passion for these areas to apply and take the next step in their educational journey.

5. The Sandy Dudek Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded each year to a graduating senior from Upper Scioto Valley School to help support their next steps in education. It can be used for a variety of post-secondary opportunities, including associate and bachelor’s degrees, as well as technical or skilled trade certification programs. We encourage all students pursuing further education to apply.
